How the directory is verified
Official source first, precise role second
The directory separates independent societies from sections, special-interest groups, accrediting bodies, certification brands, and pathways.
Each listing links to the organization or parent body's own current source.
Cards identify whether the entry is a society, federation, SIG, section, accreditor, or pathway.
Membership tiers, fees, and benefits can change; compare them at the source.
Program accreditation, practice accreditation, and individual certification are not treated as interchangeable.
Editorial note: Inclusion means the group has a relevant, verifiable role in ultrasound or POCUS. It does not imply sponsorship, endorsement, or equivalence among credentials.
Questions before joining
POCUS organization FAQ
Which organization should a POCUS beginner join?+
Start with the society that matches your profession and specialty, then add a POCUS-first community if its education, mentorship, and networking fit your goals.
Are all 24 entries independent membership societies?+
No. The directory intentionally includes independent societies, official sections and SIGs, federations, accreditors, certification bodies, and parent-society pathways. Each card states the role.
Why are membership prices not listed?+
Fees, eligibility, regional pricing, and benefits change. The official organization page is the reliable place to compare current cost and access.
Do EUFAC and AIUM certify individual clinicians?+
No. EUFAC accredits AEMUS fellowship programs, while AIUM accredits ultrasound practices. Individual certification is a different function and should be verified with the issuing body.
Does inclusion mean Ultrasound Fanatic endorses the organization?+
No. Inclusion reflects a current, verifiable role in ultrasound or POCUS. It does not imply sponsorship, endorsement, or that every credential serves the same purpose.
