Disclaimer
Clear boundaries for medical education, simulation, evidence, product comparisons, affiliate links, and third-party resources.
This Disclaimer applies to ultrasoundfanatic.com, POCUS Simulator, our articles, comparisons, communications, and related educational materials (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services, you acknowledge the boundaries below.
Ultrasound Fanatic supports learning and simulated practice. It is not a diagnostic service, a medical device, a substitute for a qualified clinician, or a replacement for supervised hands-on training.
1. General information only
Ultrasound Fanatic, Inc. provides general educational and informational content. The Services are offered in good faith, but educational content cannot account for every patient, device, setting, protocol, institution, jurisdiction, or change in evidence.
Use of the Services is also governed by our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
2. No medical advice or professional relationship
Nothing in the Services is medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, or a recommendation for a specific patient. Accessing content, using POCUS Simulator, contacting us, or receiving a response does not create a clinician-patient, supervisory, consulting, or other professional relationship.
Clinical decisions must be made by appropriately qualified professionals using patient-specific assessment, complete clinical information, current evidence, applicable law, institutional policy, and independent judgment. Never disregard or delay professional advice or emergency care because of the Services.
3. POCUS Simulator limitations
POCUS Simulator is an educational rehearsal tool. It may help learners review protocols, probe-selection concepts, positioning, image patterns, and simulated decisions. It cannot reproduce all of the technical, anatomical, operational, or cognitive complexity of scanning a real patient.
- It does not acquire, interpret, or monitor a real patient’s ultrasound examination.
- It is not cleared or intended as a medical device or clinical decision-support system.
- Scores and feedback reflect the educational scenario and do not measure full clinical competency.
- It does not replace supervised scanning, institutional training, formal assessment, specialist interpretation, or local quality assurance.
- Do not use simulated cases as a protocol for an actual patient or emergency.
Content may include simulated, deidentified, licensed, or publicly available educational material as labeled. Do not submit patient-identifiable information or protected health information to the Services.
4. No certification, credentialing, or continuing-education guarantee
Use, purchase, progress, scores, or completion do not establish clinical competence and do not grant certification, credentialing, privileging, licensure, or authorization to practice. Ultrasound Fanatic is not your employer, licensing board, credentialing body, academic institution, or clinical supervisor.
A third-party course or event may offer continuing-education credit only when that provider explicitly says so and subject to its current terms. Ultrasound Fanatic does not independently guarantee accreditation, acceptance, eligibility, or credit unless we expressly state otherwise in writing.
5. Accuracy, evidence, and timeliness
We aim to ground material clinical claims in primary literature, society guidance, or authoritative sources and to state important limitations. Medicine, devices, prices, product features, guidelines, and app functionality change. Sources may conflict, be revised, or apply only to a specific population or setting.
We do not warrant that every item is complete, current, error-free, or suitable for your purpose. Publication or review dates show when a page was last assessed; they are not a guarantee that every linked source remains unchanged. Verify critical information with current primary sources and local guidance before relying on it.
Our standards for sourcing, disclosures, and corrections are further described in the Editorial Policy.
6. Products, comparisons, and editorial judgment
Product roundups, app comparisons, course guides, device discussions, books, and resource lists reflect educational and editorial judgment at the time reviewed. Inclusion, ranking, an “Ultrasound Fanatic Score,” or a favorable description is not a clinical endorsement, warranty, or promise that a product is right for you.
Features, regulatory status, compatibility, pricing, availability, warranties, continuing-education claims, and seller terms must be confirmed with the manufacturer or provider. Product performance can vary by user, device, training, environment, and use case.
Unless expressly disclosed, third parties do not control our editorial conclusions. Commercial relationships should be identified where they could reasonably affect how a reader evaluates a recommendation.
7. Affiliate and commercial disclosure
Some links are paid or affiliate links. If you make a purchase through one, Ultrasound Fanatic may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
Affiliate compensation does not change the price you pay, but it is a material relationship. A clear disclosure should appear close to the relevant recommendation or link—not only on this page. Sponsored content, free products, discounts, ownership interests, development partnerships, and other material relationships will be disclosed when applicable.
POCUS Simulator is an Ultrasound Fanatic product. Adam Snider leads its educational concept and product direction, and Infuse Medical is the development partner. Purchases may be processed through Apple, Google, or another distributor.
8. External links and third-party services
The Services may link to studies, society guidance, app stores, manufacturers, retailers, course providers, organizations, and other third parties. We do not control their content, security, accessibility, availability, privacy practices, claims, products, or transactions.
A link is provided for context or convenience and does not make Ultrasound Fanatic responsible for the third party. Review the third party’s current terms and policies before using its service or completing a purchase.
9. Testimonials, examples, and results
Testimonials, quotations, case examples, and user experiences reflect the speaker’s perspective or an educational scenario. They do not guarantee that another user will achieve the same learning, professional, financial, or clinical outcome.
Individual results depend on prior knowledge, deliberate practice, supervision, access to equipment, clinical exposure, local requirements, and many other factors. “Your results may vary” does not replace a specific disclosure when an example is unusual or a material relationship exists.
10. No warranties and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without express, implied, or statutory warranties, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, or results.
Your use of and reliance on the Services is at your own risk. Liability exclusions and limits are set out in the Terms of Use. Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes a right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Emergencies
The Services are not monitored for emergencies. If you or another person may be experiencing a medical emergency, contact local emergency services or an appropriately qualified clinician. Do not send urgent patient-care questions or protected health information to Ultrasound Fanatic.
12. Corrections and contact
If you identify a material error, outdated source, missing commercial disclosure, or rights concern, please tell us. Include the page URL and a concise description, but do not send patient information.
